The objectives of the social/recreational program are as follows:
1. To promote self-advocacy: Help our clients to be more socialized in relation to recreation and leisure activities such as community walks and outings to the park or nearby shops.
2. To promote community integration: Inspire client contact with non-handicapped individuals and exposure to different environmental/social settings.
3. To promote social skills training: Encourage participation in social/recreational activities such as safety awareness, behavior management, respect for others and communication with others.
4. To promote money management skills: Teach our clients the concept of handling money by making small store purchases while at the day program to buy snacks or going to the Dollar Store during their community outings.
